Many cars come from the factory with halogen headlights, so it can be said that halogen headlight bulbs are the standard for car lights. If you love halogen bulbs for cars, you may want to know the precautions to take when checking and replacing halogen bulbs for cars.
1. Check the whole car lighting effect.
(1) headlights.
The requirements for headlights are simple: sufficient luminosity and proper projection angle. The light is the vehicle annual audit over the line test items, but in daily use, as long as they feel good on the line. The lighting effect of headlights is mainly related to two factors: luminosity and angle. The car will have bumps and vibrations while driving, so the lamps will be loose and misaligned, which is also a common reason for the lighting effect to drop.
The angle of the headlights are adjustable, the vast majority of them are inside the front compartment, behind the headlights, adjusted by positioning screws, and some are adjusted outside the car, or electrically adjusted inside the car. Without the aid of light measuring instruments, you can park the car on a straight road, start the engine, but remember that you must use the generator to generate enough power to maintain the normal work of the headlights, each time after fine-tuning the angle, switch between the near light, far light, adjust until you feel good on it.
(2) Auxiliary lighting.
The requirements of the wide light, brake light and reversing light are bright enough and no flashing, the flashing frequency of the turn signal should be between 60~120 times per minute, and the frequency of the front and rear lights should be the same. Auxiliary lights are not bright enough, you should first observe whether the lamp cover is aging and yellowing, or water vapor caused by rain leakage.
(3) The method of cleaning the lampshade is very simple, just take the lampshade apart and wipe it clean with a wet cloth. If you think the light projection angle is fine, but the lighting effect is still bad, it is time to change the bulb. There are two kinds of car headlight bulbs: incandescent and halogen, of which halogen bulbs for cars are more efficient and have a long life, although the price is higher, but now it has gradually become mainstream.
In short, when buying bulbs, pay attention to the new bulb and the original bulb power is exactly the same, because if the power will immediately burn, small will not be bright enough, generally in the vicinity of the lamps will be labeled with the power label.
2. Do-it-yourself bulb replacement.
Disassemble the halogen bulb to start from the back of the lamp, first remove the plastic or rubber cover at the back of the lamp, plastic cover is unscrewed, rubber cover can be lifted directly, and then you can see the lamp holder part. Most of the bulbs are fixed with wire springs, the wire springs will be loosened by shaking them left and right, and then you can pull out the lamp holder, and then you must check the power of the bulb again.
Halogen bulb is a small cylindrical glass tube, take the new bulb remember not to touch the surface of the glass with your hands, otherwise the grease on the glass will make the bulb energized temperature rise sharply, resulting in the bulb broken. There are several positioning pins at the base of the bulb, insert the new bulb into its original position, make sure the bulb will not come loose, and then restore the entire headlight to its original shape in the reverse order of disassembly. Once you are done, you can go back to the driver's seat, turn on the headlight switch and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Changing the halogen bulbs for cars in the auxiliary lights is even easier, and is usually done from the rear of the light fixture as well. Most signal light bulbs are fixed to a base plate which can be easily removed with a screwdriver. In the case of rear lights, the interior trim panel of the trunk must first be removed. As with the headlights, remember to replace the halogen bulb with one of the same wattage.
